Our warmest congratulations go out to Jake McPherson, NYPTA Western District Director and Chair of the Advisory Panel on Legislation, for being named this year’s recipient of the 2014 APTA Emerging Leader Award.

The Emerging Leader Award was established to annually honor individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary service to the profession and APTA early in their careers. Jake’s involvement in the Chapter began when he attended the Leadership Development Workshop and served as a Student Delegate to the Delegate Assembly in 2009. During his tenure, he has served on various task forces, boards, assemblies, House of Delegates, forums and committees. He served on the ATPA student Assembly Board of Directors and assumed the role of Western District Chair for three years following graduation. He has also served as a member of NYPTA’s Advisory Panel on Legislation. He was elected to the NYPTA Board of Directors in 2014 and has represented the Chapter at APTA’s House of Delegates as a Chapter delegate for the past three years.

Congratulations, Jake, on this well-deserved recognition.

In addition to being recognized as an Emerging Leader in the APTA,  Dr, McPherson has also earned his certification as a Multiple Sclerosis Specialist.  Congratulations Jake!!!

Cervicogenic Lecture presented at Dent Neurology “Dizziness and Balance Neurology Rounds”

Our team is always eager to advance knowledge within the health care community. This month Dr. Bennett was the guest speaker at “Dizziness/Balance Neurology Rounds” at Dent Neurologic.  The focus of the presentation by Sue was on the Examination and Treatment of Cervicogenic Dizziness.  Much of the presentation focused on the comprehensive examination and importance of identifying the underlying cause of dizziness to provide the best treatment and outcome for the patient.

Long time associate of the practice, Julie Janese appointed to new position- Operations Manager.

I have been with Susan Bennett and Associates PT since March 2010 and have had the pleasure to grow within the practice I love. Now as Operations Manager I am able to observe the needs of our patients and logistics of the practice. I work hard to implement and refine day to day operations to enable the best care possible as our practice continues to grow. I am greatful for the opportunity to work with such a caring group of professionals and inspirational patients.
